Again…Thank you Emma !Your hospitality is unbeatable !Extremely clean, cosy, delicious breakfast, little fine touches of everything, such as wall hanging hooks, bathroom / shower room flowers, my attic little room’s handy little folding table and folding chair for eating or writing, etc. Much appreciated !!!Most of all, I am so so so grateful for Emma’s caring generosity for me to stay quietly in her front room for extra 2 hours after check-out, allowed me me to lie flat on the sofa and foot stool,as my sharply painful haemorrhoids made me unable to walk !

Neptune's rest was lovely, the breakfast was delicious, Emma was the perfect host. I had a single room without an ensuite which was a little snug but adequate for what i needed.

Used the guest house for overnight stay when travelling to Northern Ireland.Friendly atmosphere and the accommodation was very good.

Great place to stop for a good sleep and great breakfast, before the onward ferry to Belfast the following day. did the reverse when returning home.Clean and tidy friendly family run establishment.Would use again without questionThank You

I stayed one night to go to the Stranraer Oyster Festival- what a great find the Neptunes Rest Gueshouse is - a very friendly welcome from Emma and my cosy single room was perfect for the night . Clean room , v comfy bed , a small chair and table , great shower and there's even your own bathrobe-how many other guesthouses do that . Lovely breakfast the next day , served by a very friendly lady before I set off. Norhing was too much trouble and all this for an amazingly reasonable rate . Very highly recommended for your next stay in Stranraer .

A lovely a guest house with cosy comfortable rooms located near the Marina. Owner and staff super accommodating and welcoming. Breakfasts very good. Very good value for money.

We had a very good night and a good breakfast ! The staff is friendly and welcoming.

There is many reasons why we made the right decision to choose Neptune's Rest: EXCELLENT communication before our stay- I was coming back with questions regarding the facilities and Emma was fantastic withquick replies and putting my mind at ease. She went above and beyond to provide us with an extra bed for our little daughter and offered a glass of milk to her when it was too late to get it from local Tesco. The room was cosy and big enough for 3 beds ( 1 dbl, 1 sgl and an extra futon). Everything was clean, bathroom well stocked with toiletries, and so was the tea/coffee table.Breakfast room was in a different, but adjacent building and the food was great! You could have your cereals of all kind, freshly squeezed orange juice, full Scottish breakfast, omelette etc... I also needed to iron some clothes and the board and an iron was provided as well. We received a very warm welcome and farewell :) our little one didn't want to get dressed in the morning (just your usual toddler behaviour haha) and seeing that, Emma sprung into action and helped us with that, which was much appreciated. All in all, this was a great choice and we will be staying again 😁

I stayed at Neptune's Rest for two nights only, but I still see the beautiful view from the window of my room before me, the view of the loch. Everything was as it should be; Neptune's Rest is a clean, very friendly, comfortable B&B which I left fit for a longish journey ahead after an excellent breakfast.

The hostess was just lovely; very warm and welcoming. The house was immaculate and had obviously only recently been decorated. Our bedroom was large, immaculately clean and with every facility we needed. The breakfast was superb and we could not have asked for better.All in all it was a five star experience and we would recommend this accomodation to anyone. Outstanding in every particular.

We were a group of golfers playing nearby courses and this was the perfect place to rest our weary heads. The rooms are clean, had en-suite toilet and shower and were supplied with towels and other bits and pieces. The staff were very friendly and keen to help us. It is within easy walking distance of restaurants and pubs (always a plus!). Saving the best until last, the breakfast was exceptional. Cooked to order, it was perfect and fueled us through the rest of the day. Will hope to stay again if we're in the area.

For a start, I had a lovely welcome, this was my first holiday for years (out of practice) and the lady was super (genuinely lovely).The breakfast ladies were also lovely, welcoming and friendly. I can’t fault the place.Here is the ‘practical’ bit. I was on the top floor and the water pressure was brilliant! The room was clean and uncluttered. The whole building was very clean and well presented.Temperatures were hot when I went, and the room was cool and comfortable.

Rooms were clean,cosy and b b and b location was excellent facing the and only a couple of minutes walk to restaurants and town centre. Host are Very friendly, warm and accommodating and nothing was to much trouble for them. If you're looking for somewhere to stay, I highly recommend staying here. You will not be disappointed.

A lovely guest house on the water front. Very friendly and accommodating when I arrived late at night.

Thank you for the plesent stay and warm welcome.Room was nice and clean and the bed was easy to sleep on.The breakfast was excellent along with the service.Parking the car was easy and close. So no difficulty in caring luggage.A quiet end of the town but near all facilities.

I stayed with my wife and young son at the Neptunes Rest Guest House. Our room was very clean and comfortable with all the amenities required, and the staff were extremely pleasant, friendly and helpful. Our location was also great, right across from the harbour and just a few minutes walk from the town centre. I would happily return to stay here again!

We had an overnight stay in this welcoming guest house whilst en route to Northern Ireland. It’s ideally located on the sea front in Stranraer. Only 15 mins drive to Cairnryan Ferry. The hosts were very friendly and helpful. The accommodation is spotlessly clean and comfortable. The Scottish breakfast was lovely.

The location was great along with views. Very helpful when my husband got us locked out of room. Breakfast was nice and serviceon time.

I stayed solo for one night in Stranraer and, for £60, got a very comfortable double bed, all the standard facilities well prepared, breakfast and a sea view very close to the centre of town. Emma (host) was wonderful and very helpful with regards to my further travel. Will definitely stay again if I'm in Stranraer! :)

Arrived at about the time I had agreed and was welcomed by a happy and cheerful Emma, it always makes a difference to be welcomed with a big smile. I was shown to my room which was well kept, very tidy and nicely decorated with clean en suite facilities. I had a comfortable night's sleeps on a comfortable bed. Breakfast was very good Susan was looking well after those who were having breakfast. It is nice seeing people running the extra mile to look after their guests. Well done Emma & Ian

We stayed here for one night before catching the ferry to N. I. It was perfect. The hosts were very welcoming, the room in the attic very pleasant with lovely views. We were able to store our golf clubs in the downstairs front room. Breakfast was home cooked and plentiful . We would definitelyrecommend an overnight stay for a great the value offered.

Really nice for a one night stay.Room a wee bit small but was adequate for our needs. Bed really comfy and shower gej, shampoo etc provided.Original room was at top of house but when owner noticed I had mobility issues she suggested we gave a room lower down - which when I saw the amount of stairs to ir Final room I was so grateful!The best thing about here was the breakfast.It was really tasty and we could have as much tea, coffee and toast as we wanted.Parking on street outside guest house across from a nice looking park.Would definitely stay here again if having a short break.

We were at Stranraer for a birthday dinner I would say my sister-in-law had better and bigger room at the front with good view but there was nothing wrong with ours just a bit smaller, very nice family that has quest house, breakfast was excellent, would go back.

Stayed for three nights. Emma and her family were friendly and welcoming hosts. Lovely room and breakfast offering. No traffic noise. Plenty of free on street parking outside and free long stay car park nearby. Would recommend!

Nice hotel with good comfy bed,breakfast was really nice.

Quaint B&B with a cracking breakfast and Emma was wonderfully friendly and helpful. Rooms varied in size but suited our needs and were and very clean. 5 stars from us, will definitely be back.

Nice and cosy with friendly welcome

We stayed at Neptunes Rest prior to a ferry crossing the next day. We arrived a little early so took a walk in the park opposite and called at the Driftwood Cafe for a sandwich & cuppa (highly recommended). Once at Neptunes Rest we were greeted by Emma who was very friendly. Our room was on the top floor and overlooked the park and Loch Ryan. The room was clean and had everything we needed for an overnight stay. Breakfast was tasty and set us up for our day ahead.We would just like to point out though that the bed squeaked every time one of us moved and was not particularly comfortable. We did not sleep as well as we’d hoped. Perhaps a new bed/mattress should be considered for this room.

We were made very welcome by Emma our host who offered us a larger room on the ground floor.As I use a trekking pole to help my balance.But I wanted to stay on the top floor which had beautiful views over Lock Ryan and out to Ailsa Craig. The room was perfect ensuite with coffee and tea making facilities even hot chocolate and biscuits.A lovely breakfast more food than we could eatI would stay her again and recommend it to others.

Excellent 3 night stay at Neptune's Rest guest house in Stranraer.Friendly staff, comfortable accommodation and great food.A great base for visiting the beautiful Rhins of Galloway.I Would definitely recommend staying at this establishment.

Great wee cosy place to stay, owners are great friendly well looked after, very handy for great resultants and golf courses. Room was great, breakie was pretty good again staff was great well recommended.🤙

Felt really pampered by host(s) !When I realized I would be arriving in Stranraervery late around 11:15 pm, later than the hotel’slast check-in time, I called host Emma who toldme how I could get keys to enter. Upon arrival,I found keys and my room No 4 with no problem.I was very happy to see a very cozy roomwide open welcoming me ! Having entered my elegantly decorated room which is arrangedwith carefully chosen deep-green tone furnishing matched with light cream-white curtains, I sat downsunk into that deep green round comfy chair, feeling really wonderful ! Immediately, that thick pack of hot chocolate and the deep-green love bird-pair flamingo big generous cup on the grey table melt my heart !Such a caring warm welcome !That big cup of hot chocolate sent me into my sweetest dreams on that very very comfy bed !!!I woke up to find happy warm sunlight gently waving at me through that lively pair of cream-white curtains !I was then attracted into that poshly-furnished shower / toilet room enjoying a most wonderful non-overly powerful shower ! My shower was also added with extra delight by host’s caring thought of providing two large bath towels instead only one in all B&B I have stayed ! I always need two bath towels at home and Emma really really made my shower a great enjoyment with those two large bath towels !!!Ahhh… just a little note to remind Emma :maybe a non-slippery plastic foot mat inside the shower cabinet would be safer for some old-age guests from slipping ?Enjoyed my morning shower so much that I found myself running short of time to also enjoy a nice full breakfast. But Emma so efficiently and quickly brought out a plateful of cooked breakfast before my bus journey to my next destination, Stranraer’s Logan Botanic Garden to join my African Drumming Group for our morning performance and workshop !Not only so, Emma’s father and daughter even drove meto Port Rodie Bus Stop to catch my bus No 407 !How could I not be so deeply-touched by such acaring host-family ???Truly a home away from home !!!Thank you so so so much Emma and your family,plus your very hospitable team members in yourlovely kitchen !!!Recording this happy stay on2024-05-16-Friday8:15 am UK time

We had a lovely stay over the bank holiday weekend you were made to feel very welcome with great hospitality a very comfortable bed with a great sea view and a good hearty breakfast, good location. My only complaint would be would be an ill fitting roller blind due to the shape of the room big gaps ever side letting in light early in the morning, but we will def be going back great hosts with very friendly staff 😊😊

We were cycling from Stranraer to Eyemouth and it was great to have bike storage for 4 bikes.Rooms were very clean and the hotel is near to the town centre.

We had a lovely stay in the downstairs family room. It was comfortable for us, a child and a baby. Emma was lovely and helpful.The room was very clean, breakfast was great and there was plenty of parking outside and a nice park as well.Our only suggestion would be to please be mindful there’s people in the room near 9pm that might be sleeping as there was a person calling for the dog “Rosie” to come out and then back in and it ended up waking our baby both times.

Myself and husband stayed 30th March to 1st April, Emma and her team are very friendly and welcoming, nothing was to much trouble, the surrounding area has gorgeous views andnice places locally to eat, would definitely recommend and if we come up to Stranraer again would definitely book in again, Thank you 😁

A great little place to stay. Helpful and pleasant owners and a plentiful and varied breakfast. The single room is very small up in the eaves and the private bathroom is separate, next door which is a little awkward. The addition of a folding chair and table in the room made it surprisingly functional but it was very cold in the night and I had to go in search of extra bedding. A hot water bottle was provided but I was quite late arriving and didn't find it in a drawer until I mentioned to the owner that I'd been cold and she told me about the hot water bottle. Once I had the extra bedding I slept really well.

Great experience from start to finish, from check in to breakfat and check out.Emma and her Mum were so friendly and attentive.Rooms were comfotable, slept like a baby.

I recently had to stay in Stranraer for work for a week.I booked this guest house for myself and uncle two double rooms and we where both delighted with how great the rooms where.On arrival, we where greeted with Emma who was amazing after a long hard day at work she was so welcoming making us both feel at home straight away.First impressions of the rooms where comfortable and spotless and honestly the best weeks sleep after long hard days at work I have had in ages.We had breakfast booked every morning at half 7 so we could get a bite to eat before heading to work. people say it's the best meal of the day well a think this is where the phrase started, the staff where brilliant showing us to our table a great selection of cereals, orange juice and coffee on arrival.After being seated the breakfast menu with plenty of options from full breakfast to omelettes but they will accommodate anything breakfast, a had something different everyday from the menu was awesome.I have had to book again for next week due to the job over running and it's not difficult to guess where I am staying Neptunes rest.

Delightful stay . We are so pleased to chose to stay here before our ferry. Emma was so lovely and friendly and helpful . Our room was at the top of tge stairs and had a gorgeous view. Neptune's Rest is a family-run B&B in an excellent location on Stranraer's extensive sea front. Travelling via the ferry to Larne, we needed an overnight stop, so we booked a top-floor room with an excellent sea view. Binoculars had thoughtfully been provided!As with many attic rooms, the room was not over-endowed with storage or even space for storage, but there was sufficient for us for our one-night stay, and we enjoyed a very comfortable night's sleep.Breakfast, served in the neighbouringhotel was an excellent meal. Portion size was good.The only side we felt let things down slightly was the shower. It was dated and inadequate, and lacked, for instance a grab rail for older guests. The temperature control was almost impossible to get right, and the shower hose needed replacing.But the shower apart, we were delighted with our stay, and the warm welcome re received. We would most certainly stay again.

Neptunes Rest in Stranraer is in a great location only a five minute walk to the town centre and ten minute drive to the ferry terminals. There is a lovely park, and a large free car park opposite the guest house, also there is parking on the street at the door. I had a lovely warm welcome from Emma and Ian,nothing was too much trouble. The room was en suite and had the most comfortable bed I've slept on for a while, in the morning the breakfast was excellent with lots of choice. Overall I can't recommend the Neptunes Rest enough and I would gladly stay there again.

We stayed here twice, at the start of our trip to Scotland and at the end. Each time we were made so welcome by Emma and her team. The rooms were lovely, clean and well equipped. My stay at Neptune's Rest was delightful. The location on the waterfront in Stranraer is idyllic with views over the park and Loch Ryan and handy to restaurants and shops and the waterfront area. The room was spotlessly clean, well-appointed, beautifully decorated, cozy and quiet. Easy access to bus to explore the local area and train or ferry for your onward journey. Add to that the delicious breakfast prepared to order each morning, and I'm not sure I've ever had a more enjoyable stay anywhere or for such an affordable price. Emma, Ian and their family are friendly hosts. Highly recommend.

Nice quite hotel,we had to contact the hotel as our ferry was running late and didn’t get into Stranraer until after midnight and we were left a key in the key box to get in . Nice clean room with a lovely on suite and very affordable price . We had a super breakfast that kept us fuelled up for their trip home . Would definitely use it again

My stay at Neptunes Rest Guest House was excellent. From the minute I walked through the door, I was greeted with a huge smile. Emma was a fantastic host and the room was very comfortable.The cooked breakfast was really good - you could choose anything from the menu and it was very tasty. I would highly recommend

We really enjoyed our two day stay in this Guest House.The owner is delightful, as are the lovely ladies who help serve breakfast.For us it is set in an ideal position along the sea front, giving us easy access to Agnew Park and the lovely walk along the shore path. If I could suggest a change it would be to have slightly less furniture in the room - maybe remove one of the bedside tables and move the chest of drawers towards the back wall giving a bit more room to manoeuvre, and bedroom chair was lovely, but again think that could be done without and these two things would make it feel much more spacious.If we are in Stranraer again we would not hesitate to stay here again.

Slightly confusingly, we were put up in the next door building (formerly the Marine Hotel). The room was clean (quite freshly decorated) and comfortable. Breakfast good. Good value and perfectly adequate for an overnight stay before the ferry.

We could not have enjoyed our stay at Neptunes Rest more, thanks primarily to Emma who could not do enough to make our stay a good one. Also her Dad Tommy who gave us a lift to the ferry terminal. The hotel is well located near town centre and the seaside area. The rooms were fine albeit a little small. The breakfast included was also very good. Thanks Emma and team.

2nd stay at Neptunes Rest.Excellent room (I paid a very modest £20 extra for a double en-suite).Warm welcome and friendly hosts/staff and the breakfast choices and quality are fantastic.Roughly 5 minute walk into town centre, well located and nice view over Agnew Park.

Lovely Hotel/B&B, neat, tidy and comfortable. Made to feel very welcome. Only thing I could recommend is that decaffeinated coffee sachets and sweetener is placed in rooms, along with normal coffee and sugar.Thanks - Look forward to a possible stay next year. Breakfast was bang on. Thanks.

Lovely little place, made to feel welcome by the owners.Room was clean and tidy on arrival with a great view of the bay and a nice added touch of some binoculars to watch the ferries come and go.Breakfast was nice with plenty tea, coffee and toast and the staff/owner couldn’t be any more helpful.Definitely recommend.

A very beautiful welcome with comfortable accommodation. The room was ensuite and very clean. Bed very comfortable and had a great night's sleep. Woke to a vey large and wholesome Scottish breakfast. Such a warm welcome from Emma. Lovely room with a great view up Loch Ryan. We got parked outside on the street (free) but there is a council car park close by. I didn't stay here personally. I booked this as a surprise mini-break for one of my customer's as her Travel Agent, and she was very pleased. Which is great considering she didn't choose it herself. It seems all the past reviews I'd researched on Neptunes Rest did not dissapoint, and in my customer's own words:"Thank you so much for arranging this, as I doubt I could have found something that was such good value. Emma, the owner, was very welcoming, it was very clean and homely. I felt very safe and relaxed there. The breakfast was delicious too."

The welcome and the room was lovely. I arrived after a day of being cold and wet on the golf course and the heating was on, so the room was 'cozy'. Breakfast the next morning was really nice too. I'd stay again without any hesitation.

I stayed here for one night with my boyfriend because it was within close proximity to the P&O ferry at Cairnryan as we had to travel super early for our boat to Belfast. The room as so nicely decorated and was kept nice and warm as it was late December. They even put a hot water bottle in the bed! Really nice warm welcome by the owner too. Loved it. Don’t stay anywhere else.

I arrived around 18:30 and was greeted warmly and promptly by the children of the household and the Emma. I was upgraded and offered an ensuite room. The room was warm and comfortable which after travelling and driving from the outer Hebrides was very welcome. Emma gave provided cereals, milk, toast and fruit juice for my breakfast as I was catching the 08:00 ferry and breakfast is not usually served until 07:00. Again the freedom to have my breakfast alone was very much appreciated.

I went to Stranraer to visit family and needed a room that was clean tidy and affordable. This met all my needs perfectly. A great breakfast and the owner and staff were so friendly and helpful.

Excellent hotel in a handy location with on street parking. Very clean rooms with good facilities and lots of storage. The free toiletries and tea/coffee tray were much appreciated. Breakfast was lovely with generous portions and well cooked. The fresh fruit was lovely. All presented well and with a friendly smile. Nothing was too much trouble.

It is hard for a single traveler to find B&B accommodations.This room was small but perfect for my needs.My room was cleaned on a daily basis and fresh towels were provided every day.The bathroom was not en suite but was well-maintained with an excellent shower.The WiFi speeds were among the best I have found in Scotland (used the Speedtest app) and a TV was available in the room.The staff were very friendly and the breakfasts were excellent.You can either park in the street outside Neptune’s Rest or in the large free parking lot a short distance away.My car was fine in the free lot for three days.I would not hesitate recommending this B&B to anyone.It was a very good choice.

My wife and I spent two nights at Neptune's rest. Emma and her family are such hard workers, delightful to talk with, and went out of their way to be helpful to us in finding transportation.The town of Stanraer is a joy, very walkable with many coffee shops and cafes. Be sure to visit The Wee Wooly Man!Emma's breakfasts were big and hearty, so delicious. We very much enjoyed the view to the park and harbor, as well as chatting with fellow travelers.We had a first floor room which was great as we are older.We hope to return for another visit very soon!

The room was beautifully decorated and in pristine condition. The bathroom was spotless. Very convenient if you are travelling by ferry and arriving late or departing early as I was. Very accommodating when I called to say I was running behind schedule. Unfortunately I left too early around to catch a ferry and missed the breakfast so can’t comment on that but I’m sure it was of high standard. Thank you to the hosts!

The guest house was very comfortable for our one night stay enroute to Cairnryan. The booking clearly stated we were 2 adults plus three children, so I expected a double and triple room. However, we ended up with a single and triple room, still one short despite me trying very hard not to smuggle the spare child into a 2+2 room (this time). Luckily, the host very quickly provided us with a blow up bed for a child, which was cramped but okay for just a night.My husband took the single room, as one child on their own upstairs was not the plan. This seems to have been a booking.com glitch, which was annoying for us. The host couldn't do enough, the breakfast was good and overall it was a pleasant stay.

Arrived late due to road closed from Edinburgh to Stranraer. Owner of the hotel was so nice and welcoming on arrival. Room was lovely and clean with a great view of the sea. Had all the facilities you could need. Breakfast was included in the price and it was amazing. Cereals and porridge then a full cooked breakfast with 2 bacon 2 sausages mushrooms black pudding tatie cake beans tomato and egg and toast and jam. Orange juice and tea or coffee. 10/10 great way to start the day. Would highly recommend.

This is a lovely guest house in a central position. Really friendly staff who can’t do enough for you. Lovely breakfast, clean room and quiet. Came to visit family so only used as a base but couldn’t fault it! Have booked again for summer.

Very nice place, my room look like new, same with bathroom. Parking on main road alongside hotel. Breakfast was good.

My daughter and I stayed at the neptune B@B for 1 night.We stayed in a twin ensuite room which had 2 single beds,, and were really comfortable and immaculate.I have to say the place is so welcoming and comfortable i would stay again. We had breakfast the next morning which was warm and the perfect portion size, there is a great variety to choose from on the menu.Emma the hostess is such a lovely person and made us feel like we were staying in a home from home.I have family that live in Scotland and i would love to see them more,, but I find it hard getting a nice place to stay.So now I have experienced the lovely people of the Neptune I have to say there will be more scottish visits.

Very clean and excellent host on arrival despite it being late.had to leave before breakfast but found easy in romm, quiet and facilities excellent

Our room was made of a double,single and air bed...perfect for 1 adult and 3 kids. All very comfy with clean, fresh sheets.The bathroom was spotless, again with comfy, soft towels. Little touches such as Radox and toiletries were a great addition.Breakfast was delicious and Emma was kind enough to make us breakfast on the go our last morning which really helped.The hotel itself is across the road from a great park for kids or just a wander to the beach. A large free car park is really close by but you can also park on the street outside if you're lucky. Short walk to a local shop and bakery in one direction or town centre in the other.Wouldn't hesitate in booking here again.

Easy to find and parking not an issue.We struggled with the size of the double bed and mattress - felt like we were going to fall out - ended up using the single bed and slept well.Lovely en-suite but couldn't find the isolation switch for the shower.breakfast was plentiful but on the greasy side for me.Would stay again because of the hospitality and cleanliness.

We stayed in a room with doubled bed and amazing view. The bed was comfy and decor beautiful. So many small detail, we loved the wine glasses.The bathrobe was a nice touch.Emma and hubby was lovely and friendly hosts.Breakfast was tasty.The guesthouse was crispy clean and smelled lovely. I stayed here with a friend and we had the best time, largely due to the hospitality of Emma who runs the place. Nothing is too much trouble, she was so accommodating and very friendly. We also spoke to a few other members of staff who were also extremely friendly and helpful. The breakfast was fantastic and Emma went out of her way to accommodate out changing needs (depending on how heavy the night before had been!)

Stayed last week prior to the Ferry to Ireland and booked to stay on return. Telephone call received to check our arrival time as ferry was slightly delayed. Hosts are excellent, room was well furnished, comfortable bed and shower was great. Breakfast (full fry) was outstanding with toast and tea etc. Other available: porridge or cereal. Will definitely be back.

Arrived at Neptune's as a stopover for the following mornings ferry. Emma was so welcoming when I arrived and immediately felt so at home. There was such awarm atmosphere. The bedroom was so lovely and comfortable,with a beautiful view of the ocean. The breakfast the next morning was so delicious and really set me up for my journey across on the ferry. Thank you so much, would definitely recommend and would stay again in a heartbeat.

Stayed here for one night as catching an early ferry. Room was like a home from home. Very clean and comfortable. 5 minute walk to Tesco's, can walk around the harbour easily if you want to stretch your legs.There is wifi, it cut out a couple of times, for a few minutes, which is fine if you're streaming TV but might be annoying if trying to work. I think the owners are working on this though

The room was kept to a very high standard of cleanliness with additional touches not normally seen anywhere i.e. men’s/ladies deodorants, feminine sanitary products, shower gel, shampoo and antibacterial hand wash. An ample supply of glasses and cups. Emma and her family could not do enough to make our stay as pleasant as possible. Emma and her family run a brilliant B&B in a perfect location by the beach park at Stranraer. The room was immaculate and comfortable and the breakfast was delicious. Town is well-placed for visit to beautiful Galloway and Ayrshire.

I stayed briefly overnight before joining a ship. The owner was very welcoming. The single room I had suited my needs perfectly.......the bed was very comfy & it was quiet. I was up & our early so didn't get to sample the breakfast.

It is our second time staying at Neptune's rest before catching the ferry to Belfast. Both stays have been great, with a warm welcome, comfy beds and a great breakfast. Fab location with a lovely play park right across the road. We'll be back.

We recently stayed on a Friday for 1 night. We were greeted warmly by Emma the proprietor. The house is scrupulously clean with excellent COVID measures in place. Our bedroom and ensuite we're tastefully decorated, with plently of fresh clean towels and soaps. We had a beautiful view from our window overlooking the adjacent park and of Loch Ryan and a set of binoculars were available in the room to enhance the view. We parked on the road outside the property, however, a large council carpark was just down the road a wee bit. All amenities in the town were within a few minutes walking distance and access to the beautiful countryside available in all directions. A good choice of breakfast menu and freshly cooked and plentiful. Checkout was fuss free and great value. A fantastic place to stay due to the hardworking and good humoured proprietor and behind the scenes team.Thank you

Stayed for one night before catching an early ferry the next morning. It's an unassuming building from the outside which makes it a pleasant surprise when you step over the threshold. Tastefully decorated, nice and very clean room with lots of nice little touches. Nice location and lots of nearby free parking.Host couldn't of been friendlier. Highly recommended. Planning on a return for a long weekend later in the year.

We stopped off in the Neptune Rest Guest house during the week. The accommodation was of a high standard, the rooms were very nicely decorated, very clean, the EnSite was also very clean and tidy, there was plenty of towels, shampoo and shower gels. We received a beautiful breakfast the following morning. The landlady was very friendly and we will stay again.

I have just returned from a three night stay at Neptunes Rest, the room was beautiful as was the view.The owner is very friendly, helpful and welcoming, while this is bed and breakfast you have use of the microwave and fridge in the breakfast room which was very useful. I had been shielding until August and felt completely safe, with plenty of hand sanitiser around. I hope to return for another break in the future.

I was in Stranraer for some cycling for a day, but arrived the night before to stay.I booked at short notice, but everything was ready when I arrived and Emma was really friendly and welcoming throughout my short stay.The new room had everything that I needed. Bed was comfy, shower was new and worked well. The location is very central.And finally, my breakfast was brilliant - Emma did some poached eggs for me, just the way I like them.And all for a really great price.So I’d totally recommend the Neptune’s Rest. Neptun guest house hosted me overnight and the cosy single room was everything I needed. Friendly Emma took me upstairs to show the way and talk me through. The room was absolutely sweet, very clean and quiet, bed so comfortable. As I had to leave before 7am when the breakfast was being served I helped myself with food left in fridge in dining room.Off Street parking space was available so did a large car park nearby across the street.Absolutely amazing place to stay :-)Thank you EmmaPS. I loved the while soft and fluffy dressing gown waiting for me in my room.

Emma was very welcoming on our arrival, she showed us to our room, waited to see that we were happy then left us to get settled in.Our room was small, but we didn't mind that - we were there to sleep, the bed was comfortble, we had en suite facilities, drawers and and hanging space for our clothes and a kettle to make a brew when we woke up. The room was clean, the towels were changed daily, and the breakfast was exceptional. We used Neptunes Rest as a base for our trip from cairnryan on the StennaLine Ferry. Emma booked our Taxi both ways (which cost us £8.50 each way) and was a 10-15 minute trip along the road.We will definitely use again if we are back in the area anytime.

What a lovely place to stay. spotlessly clean, excellent breakfast and Emma is so lovely, she cant do enough for you .we had the sea view room on the top floor it was gorgeous and very comfortable. We look forward to returning whenever we need togo back to Ireland as this is so handy for the ferry.

Stayed here for just the 1 night before sailing to Belfast the next day. Very Warm welcome and room we had was very well presented. Bathroom looked newly renovated and decor was all fresh looking. There was entertainment on along the front being the skiff festival so was a bit of noise but us and The kids slept very well- walls must be well insulated and double glazing all round drowned out the noise to nothing!Would definitely stay again and would recommend highly to young families with a park/boating pond/ seaside right across the road. 10/10

I stayed here for a couple nights during the Skiffie Worlds and it couldn't have been in a better location! Right across from all the action at Agnew Park.Emma was friendly and welcoming and I had two delicious breakfasts. My room was clean and cosy. What a beautiful guest house, the room was clean and cosy with everything you would need for an overnight stay. The owner couldn’t do enough for us, we wasn’t arriving until late evening she left the key in a safe place for us, including an iron and ironing board in the room. On arrival, I was greeted by Emma who showed me to the room and explained the layout of the property. My room was on the 2nd floor, which was no problem to me,but with no lift, no good if any problems accessing floors other than ground level. Small but exceptional clean room with separate private bathroom, again clean with good sized shower. Property is decorated in fashion of property this age with their own touches, Again all very clean. Breakfast is to die for, with enough for any appetite. Handy for all shops and the promenade is approx 100yds away.I believe for families a fully renovated house is available just up the road.For a single travellers short break, this is perfect. Not he Ritz, but not the price of the Ritz and probably a better breakfast. Emma and family take care to please. Would revisit if in the area.

This is the place to be when you're in Stranraer for a short stay!Excellent bed and breakfast address.Clean beds and rooms, super breakfast.You are well looked after by Ian and Emma at the NeptunesClose to the centre of town, with bus connections for the whole region.The Neptunes, a fine place to stay!

A fantastic stay, very hospitable friendly & helpful. We had a lovely stay with a great view from the top floor, easy on road parking, 15 min from ferry terminal. A decent breakfast and very tidy and clean rooms. Comes highly recommended.

I stayed here for the first time recently. I arrived quite late due to my drive however the welcome couldn't have been warmer. The room was just what I needed and the bed very comfortable. Breakfast was very nice and made quickly. Overall, I was very happy staying here and will definitely do so again if I'm in the area.

I received a very warm welcome when i arrived a little earlier than planned.I stayed for 2 nights on my way to Northern Ireland on business.Although it was the run up to Christmas and also having work done on there kitchennothing was too much trouble.The single room was comfortable and clean with all the things you need for a pleasant stay. Including plenty of free parking. It was only a short walk to center of Stranraer.Breakfast was great,I can recommend Neptune's Rest. to anyone visiting the lovely area, It was good value for money.If i am in the area again i would defiantly stay there again.Thanks Emma.

This was a family run guest house. The owners were a young couple with children, the owners were. Very friendly nothing was too much trouble for them. Good cooked breakfast, we had the attic room which faced the park and partialview of Loch Ryan. If I had to be picky then the dining room could have been de cluttered, as it contained a lot of items that belonged to the familyThis was positioned great to walk into the town-train station-ferries. Very reasonably pricedOverall excellent stay

This is a lovely wee place to stay in.Our room was cosy and very clean. Having an en-suite was great, it simply meant we could use the toilet and shower without waiting and gave a feeling of full privacy. Emma (the owner) was just down to earth and very approachable. She was there if needed but equally gave us space. Breakfast was spot on. We met her two lovely children who became good company for our little boy. Would definately stay again! We had to make a panic dash to Stranraer as we had a flood in our caravan, we literally gave Neptunes Rest 2 hours prior notification of our reservation.But when we arrived our room was ready,pristine and WiFi for our autistic son was an unexpected bonus. Breakfast was fantastic and the proprietors even offered their help in our caravan plight! Cant recommend highly enough and if our caravan is no longer we know where we shall be staying each time we visit Stranraer.

We stayed here while visiting family. The guest house is spotlessly clean and smelled clean and fresh throughout. The owners were pleasant and kind and nothing was too much trouble for them. They were always onsite and even provided an electric fan (for us menopausal ladies) and ice cubes...breakfast was plentiful and cooked beautifully...a wee gem of a B&B in stranraer...

Warmly welcomed. Good facilities although showering products could have been replenished. Double room, comfortable bed and spacious, however a little noisy when water tank refills. Single room slightly claustrophobic especially with end of bed shelving unit.Helpful hosts, a nice family friendly atmosphere. A good variety for breakfast, we would recommend Neptune's.

A colleague and myself stayed at this hotel for one night on a business trip. Mr and Mrs McKeown were friendly and helpful. My room was clean and nicely decorated with a fine view of the harbour. The cooked breakfast was also excellent. The hotel is close to local shops and restaurants. My only regret was that we couldn't stay longer.

I stayed here while working in the area and could not fault the place, my room was upgraded to the ensuite room as no one was booked into that room, i explained i had had an early start and would be leaving early next morning, this was not a problem. The room was lovely, clean and well kept. I will be booking again, made to feel very welcome a lovely place and central aswell for the town centre.

This was a good location for a single night's stay - we had a lovely walk along the harbour park. A very friendly welcome into a family home, and a lovely breakfast.

We were catching the early morning ferry and this was a good place as an overnight stay the room was fine and comfy.

Really friendly and welcoming, room fresh and clean, plenty parking available, within easy walking distance for all ammenities.Great breakfast to set you up for the day. Just perfect.

We arrived very late but were shown to our room quickly and efficiently. Breakfast was excellent and the staff were very friendly. I would certainly recommend this hotel to anyone.

Found to be friendly and helpful very clean and tidy with extras we left early to catch ferry but were able to help ourselves to breakfast

Had a very pleasant stay once again at this family run establishment.the owners and family are so friendly.the over night stay was to my nieces wedding .the room, breakfast were as usual up.to scratch.the only problem was no hanging space for any clothes the room really needs a wardrobe or rail is desperately needed.c u again thanks x

We had room no. 6 and it is a little bit unusual to have the shower directly to th opposite of your bed and your toilet outside of the room, which made me to say no to a last drink at night, because i did not want to have to go to the johnn at night.The rooms are clean and the house with its old fashioned style is very charming. The rooms are equipped in fully modrrn standard though.The staff really is excellent, very friendly and helpful and with a good sense of humor.The breakfast room is extraordinary where you can have tea and coffee the whole time during your stay.

Very happy with my stay at hotel, perfect for my visit to Stranraer. Room clean and tidy and very good breakfast. Shower good 'switch it on first with the pull cord'

what can I say ,my one night stay was perfect, was meet with a great greeting from the host, the room I could not fault in any way, breakfast I required was no trouble at all. Will stay again and would recommend to family and friends

I had a very pleasant stay at Neptunes Rest Guest House. The room I had, had a beautiful view over the loch and was nicely decorated. It had everyting I needed and was very clean! Ian and Emma were wonderful and very welcoming hosts. I can only highly recommend this guesthouse! Thanks Emma and Ian!

I stayed overnight as I was heading for Larne very early the following morning. I arrived 2 hours later than I had intended after getting stuck in traffic on the M6, although that want a problem.Because of the early start, I was simply able to help myself to breakfast from the fridge set up in fhe dining room and get on my way without any fuss.Room was comfortable and had everything needed, and price for standard single very reasonable.

Lovely guest house, Ian and Emma are friendly and welcome you to their guest house in a warm manner. The rooms were decorated very tastefully and the little extra touches were appreciated. I love that you have toiletries galore in the rooms so if you have forgotton something its all there for you. The breakfast was well received by all ten of us. We will be back
